The best wine gift set is the one that matches how the person actually drinks: an opener kit for someone who opens a bottle most nights, a preserver for someone who drinks one glass at a time, and glasses with a decanter for someone who likes to host. Our pick for most people is the Rabbit 6 Piece Wine Tool Kit, a lever corkscrew with five serving tools in one case. Below are six boxed sets, exactly what the maker or retailer says is inside each one, and who each suits. For single gifts rather than sets, see our wine gift ideas guide, linked at the end of this page.
How we chose
We don’t test products. As we explain in how we rate wine and choose accessories, every contents list and spec below comes from the maker’s page or a major US retailer’s listing, which we name in the Sources box. We looked for:
- A clear contents list. Sets with the same piece count can hold very different tools, so we only picked sets whose page lists every item.
- One set per need: opening, chilling, serving, preserving and a splurge.
- Availability in the US. We left out sets that showed as sold out or out of stock when we checked in October 2026, such as Rabbit’s 4 Piece Wine Tool Kit.
- A US price from the maker or a major retailer, with the month checked. Where none was shown, we say so.

The best wine gift sets
Rabbit 6 Piece Wine Tool Kit
Who it’s for: someone who opens wine often and would use every tool in the box.
Rabbit lists these items in the kit:
- a lever corkscrew, which Rabbit says removes a cork in 3 seconds;
- a foil cutter, a wax remover for wax-sealed bottles, a pourer, a sealer and a stopper;
- a spare worm (the spiral that goes into the cork);
- a storage case to keep it all together or take it on a trip.
Rabbit says all tools are backed by a 10-year warranty, and the kit was $85.99 on Rabbit’s site in October 2026. A lever corkscrew clamps on the neck and pulls the cork with one long handle, so it asks less of the hands than a waiter’s corkscrew. In our view, this is the most complete opener kit for the money, and the spare worm and case make it a gift that lasts.
The trade-off: Rabbit’s page doesn’t list the materials or say whether any piece is dishwasher safe. A lever corkscrew is also bulky; it lives in a drawer, not a pocket. Check the Rabbit 6 Piece Wine Tool Kit on Amazon.
Rabbit 8-Piece Wine Tool Set
Who it’s for: anyone with arthritis or weak wrists, and people who like a gadget on the counter.
Crate & Barrel, which labels this set as exclusive, lists:
- an electric bottle opener with a built-in foil cutter, which uncorks with the press of a button;
- an aerator that pours wine from the bottle straight to the glass;
- a collar that goes around the neck to stop drips running down the bottle;
- a manual vacuum pump with two push-button stoppers;
- a stand that holds all the tools.
The opener comes with 4 AA batteries, the set is stainless steel, silicone and plastic, and Crate & Barrel says to hand wash it. It was $85 in October 2026. We’d choose it over the manual Rabbit kit for anyone who struggles with a lever.
The trade-off: the opener runs on AA batteries rather than a rechargeable cell, and the listing gives no warranty. Because the set is a Crate & Barrel exclusive, Amazon may show other Rabbit electric sets with different contents, so check the list before you buy. Check Rabbit electric wine sets on Amazon.
Vacu Vin Wine Set Host
Who it’s for: someone who hosts, or who drinks whites, rosé and sparkling wine that need to be cold.
Vacu Vin’s US store names three items in this set (its title says four pieces):
- the Wine Cooler Hexo, which Vacu Vin says chills wine in minutes without ice;
- the Wine Saver & Stopper Loop, a vacuum pump and stopper for open bottles;
- the Corkscrew Twister with an ergonomic grip.
All the tools are made from 98% recycled plastic, according to Vacu Vin, they come in Sand or Graphite, and the set carries a minimum 5-year warranty. It was $69.99 on Vacu Vin’s US site in October 2026. Our view: it is the best set here for someone who serves chilled wine, because it covers opening, chilling and saving in one box.
The trade-off: the page doesn’t say whether the pieces are dishwasher safe, and Vacu Vin doesn’t list a size for the cooler, so check that it fits the bottles they usually buy. Check the Vacu Vin Wine Set Host on Amazon.
Riedel Veritas Riesling glasses with Mosel decanter
Who it’s for: a couple, a new homeowner, or anyone still drinking from mismatched glasses.
Target’s listing for this Riedel set says it holds four Riedel Veritas Riesling (Riesling/Zinfandel) glasses and one Mosel decanter:
- Glasses: 14 oz, 9.25 inches tall.
- Decanter: 25 oz, about the volume of one 750 ml bottle, and 11.22 inches tall.
- Material: clear crystal glass, machine-made.
- Care: dishwasher safe; Riedel recommends bottle cleaners for stains in the decanter.
The listing says the Veritas series debuted in 2014. The Riesling glass is shaped for white wines, but the listing also names Zinfandel, so it is a reasonable all-rounder for a set of four. We’d pick it as the most practical glassware gift here because everything goes in the dishwasher.
The trade-off: Target showed no price when we checked in October 2026, and Riedel’s US site sends buyers to retailers, so compare prices before ordering. Check the Riedel Veritas Riesling set with Mosel decanter on Amazon.
Coravin Pivot+
Who it’s for: someone who drinks one glass at a time and pours the rest away.
The Pivot+ isn’t sold as a “gift set,” but it arrives as a complete kit. Coravin lists in the box:
- the Pivot device, a Pivot aerator and two Pivot stoppers;
- two Coravin Pure argon capsules and a bottle sleeve.
Coravin says opened wine stays fresh for up to four weeks and each capsule pours up to about 20 glasses of 150 ml. It carries a one-year warranty and a 30-day risk-free trial, and it was $199 on Coravin’s site in October 2026.
The trade-off: it is for still wines only; Coravin sells a separate Sparkling system. Argon capsules are an ongoing cost once the two in the box run out. Check the Coravin Pivot+ on Amazon.
L’Atelier du Vin Oeno Collection 4
Who it’s for: a collector or a Champagne lover who would appreciate a well-made tool.
Crate & Barrel lists two pieces in a gift box:
- a Soft Machine Dandy folding corkscrew in stainless steel and brass clad in faux tortoiseshell, with a foil cutter and bottle opener, which extracts the cork in a single movement without twisting;
- a sparkling-wine cork opener in chrome-finished die-cast zinc, which grips the cork so it comes out without popping or spilling.
The set is made in France and was $180 at Crate & Barrel in October 2026. In our view, it is the best gift here for someone who already owns a basic corkscrew and opens a lot of sparkling wine.
The trade-off: you pay for design and finish rather than more tools: there is no stopper or preserver in the box. Crate & Barrel says to rinse the pieces clean with water. Check L’Atelier du Vin Oeno gift sets on Amazon.
Also worth a look
Costco lists a Rabbit Open and Serve Wine Set, 7-piece with the Original Rabbit Corkscrew, a foil cutter, a wine and Champagne sealer, a stopper, a wax remover, an extra spiral and Rabbit’s Pura decanting system (a 750 ml decanter with an aerator and filter). Its online price was $64.99 in October 2026, but it showed as out of stock for delivery when we checked, so we didn’t pick it.
What to look for in a wine gift set
Read the contents, not the piece count. A “6-piece” set might count a spare spiral and a case as pieces, while an “8-piece” set might include a stand. Make sure the set has the tools the person lacks.
Match the opener to their hands. Lever and electric openers need the least effort. A waiter’s corkscrew is smaller and cheaper but takes a little technique.
Think about what happens to the rest of the bottle. A vacuum pump with stoppers is the cheap option. An argon system such as the Coravin keeps still wine much longer, according to Coravin, at a much higher price.
Check care instructions. Several sets here are hand wash only, or don’t say. Riedel’s crystal set is the only one listed as fully dishwasher safe.
Add a bottle. A set plus a well-reviewed bottle makes a complete gift.
Wine is for adults of legal drinking age (21 in the US). Please drink responsibly.
Frequently asked questions
What should be in a good wine gift set?
At minimum, a reliable corkscrew with a foil cutter and something to seal an open bottle. Better sets add an aerating pourer, a drip ring or a cooler. Check the contents list, because sets with the same piece count can hold very different tools.
Is an electric opener set better than a manual one?
It depends on the person. An electric opener suits anyone with weak hands or wrists. A lever corkscrew like the one in Rabbit's 6 Piece kit needs a little more effort but no batteries, and Rabbit backs that kit with a 10-year warranty.
What is a good wine gift set for someone who never finishes a bottle?
A preserver set. The Coravin Pivot+ comes with an aerator, two stoppers and two argon capsules, and Coravin says it keeps still wine fresh for up to four weeks. It does not work with sparkling wine.
Can I give a gift set together with a bottle of wine?
Yes, and it makes a stronger gift. Pick the bottle from a list with published critic scores and checked prices, such as our wine gift ideas guide, rather than guessing from the label.
