A wine advent calendar is a box of 12 or 24 small bottles, one to open each day in the run-up to Christmas. For the 2026 season we could confirm four sold in the US: Costco’s (24 half-bottles, $99.99 in most markets), Total Wine’s (24 small bottles, $89.99), In Good Taste’s (24 small glass bottles, $139.99) and Vinebox’s (12 or 24 vials, sold out when we checked). Costco’s gives by far the most wine for the money, and it is our pick if you have a membership. Below is what’s inside each one, the dated price, and where to buy it, plus what we couldn’t confirm.

How we picked

Advent calendars change every year, so we only list a calendar when a page we opened confirms the 2026 product, and we give the price with the date and the source. Where a store’s own page blocked our tools, we say so and name the publication we relied on instead. We don’t taste the wines, and these calendars don’t carry published critic scores, so none of them gets a value verdict under our Blue Book Value method. What we can compare is how much wine you get for the price.

A standard wine bottle is 750 ml. A 187 ml bottle is a quarter of that, about one glass; a 375 ml half-bottle holds about two glasses.

The 2026 wine advent calendars

Costco Wine Advent-ure Calendar 2026

Best for: the most wine for the money, and anyone who wants a proper glass or two each night.

Costco’s calendar holds 24 half-bottles of 375 ml, each behind a numbered cardboard flap, according to The Wine Fairy, a wine blog whose author bought the 2026 box at a Costco in Plano, Texas, on August 30, 2026. Her report says:

  • Price: $99.99 in most markets; she paid $108.24 with tax. Her earlier preview notes it may cost up to $119.99 in California and through online grocery services.
  • Who makes it: the wines are bought and bottled for Costco by the importer Flying Blue.
  • What’s inside: wines from about a dozen countries, including a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (Sheep Station), a French sparkling brut (Ciel Bleu), a Hungarian Blaufränkisch and a wine from North Macedonia.
  • Where: select Costco warehouses, usually from around Labor Day. Taste of Home notes it is not listed online.

At $99.99, that is about $8 per 750 ml bottle, which in our view makes it the best-value calendar of the season by a wide margin. It sells in warehouses only and stock varies by location, so call your local Costco before you drive. For bottles to buy there year-round, see our best Costco wine picks.

Total Wine & More Wine Advent Calendar 2026

Best for: a lower upfront price and one glass a day.

Total Wine’s own product page blocked our tools, so these details come from two dated reports:

  • What’s inside: 24 bottles of 187 ml, made of plastic, according to Taste of Home (updated October 13, 2026). The Daily Beast’s September 26, 2026 piece, which is labeled as an ad by Total Wine, describes a mix of reds, whites and rosés.
  • Price: $89.99, per Taste of Home; The Daily Beast gives about $90.
  • Other notes: Taste of Home says most of the wines are also sold individually, so you can go back for a favorite. The Daily Beast says the calendars typically sell out by mid-November.
  • Where: Total Wine & More. We couldn’t open Total Wine’s page to confirm pickup or delivery options in your state, so check with your local store.

That works out to about $15 per 750 ml. We’d pick it over Costco’s for someone who only wants one glass a night, or who doesn’t have a Costco membership.

In Good Taste 2026 Wine Advent Calendar

Best for: a gift shipped straight to the door, with glass bottles.

In Good Taste, which ships its calendars direct, lists its 2026 Mixed Advent as:

  • 24 glass bottles of 187 ml, “just over 6 ounces” each, one per day;
  • red, white and rosé from regions including Italy, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Washington, Napa and Sonoma;
  • $139.99 with free shipping (down from $154.99) in October 2026.

It also sells a Red Advent and a White & Rosé Advent ($149.99 each), a Luxury Advent ($234.99) and a Wine Cocktail Advent ($149.99). The company says the calendars begin shipping in October, that a signature from someone 21 or older is needed at delivery, and that it does not ship to Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi, Rhode Island or Utah, or to PO boxes. Taste of Home named it its best overall wine advent calendar.

That is about $23 per 750 ml. We’d choose it to send to someone who lives far away, since it arrives at the door. The page showed both an “Add to Cart” and an “Out of Stock” label when we checked, so confirm the version you want is available before you count on it.

Vinebox 12 Nights and 24 Nights of Wine 2026

Best for: tasting a little of a lot, with a design-led box.

Vinebox’s 2026 calendar comes as two 12-night collections of 100 ml glass vials, or both together as 24 Nights of Wine:

  • Velvet: 8 reds and 4 whites. Vine: 6 reds, 1 rosé and 5 whites.
  • Wines from Italy, France, Spain, California and Washington, each under 15% alcohol, with tasting notes, food pairings and an art print.
  • Price: $139 for one 12-night collection and $229 for 24 nights, per Vinebox’s August 17, 2026 blog post.
  • Shipping: presale orders ship from November 2, by UPS Ground, with an adult signature; Vinebox does not ship to 14 states, including Alabama, Maine, Montana and West Virginia.

The presale page showed sold out when we checked on October 28, 2026. Even when it is available, a 12-night box holds 1.2 liters, so you pay roughly $87 per 750 ml. You are paying for variety and presentation, not volume; in our view it suits a curious taster more than a value hunter.

Calendars we couldn’t confirm

  • Aldi: as of Taste of Home’s October 13, 2026 update, Aldi had not announced its 2026 advent calendar lineup. We’ll add it once Aldi confirms it; meanwhile our best Aldi wine picks cover what is on the shelf now.
  • WSJ Wine: Taste of Home lists a 2026 WSJ Wine calendar with 24 bottles of 187 ml, but WSJ Wine’s site blocked our tools and Taste of Home gives no price, so we can’t confirm what it costs.
  • Laithwaites and Wine Insiders: Laithwaites’ advent page blocked our tools, and we found no 2026 Wine Insiders calendar page, so we haven’t listed either.

What to look for in a wine advent calendar

Work out the price per bottle. Multiply the number of bottles by their size and divide by 750 ml. A cheap-looking box of 100 ml vials can cost more per bottle than a fine bottle of wine.

Check the bottle size, not just the count. 375 ml half-bottles give two glasses; 187 ml bottles give one; 100 ml vials give a small pour. Our guide to wine bottle sizes explains the formats.

Glass or plastic. Glass looks better as a gift. Plastic is lighter and won’t break in transit.

Order early, and check shipping rules. The Daily Beast says Total Wine’s calendar typically sells out by mid-November, and Vinebox’s was already sold out in October. Online sellers can’t ship to every state, and someone 21 or older has to sign.

Pair it with a gift.

Wine is for adults of legal drinking age (21 in the US). An advent calendar is meant to be enjoyed one small bottle a day; please drink responsibly.
